A self-taught artist with a background in philosophy, Vivienne Strauss’s first book of collage art is Little Birds Big Adventures. She works in paper collage and both oil and watercolor paints.
Her paintings and collages revolve around the humor of being human, shared dejection, things left unsaid, disbelief, and inspired irony. Her cut paper, pop portraits grace the covers of Lea Godard’s published compilation of short stories, Femmes Contre Nature and Ray Parnac’s Croque Monsieur. Several of her collage works were recently featured in the Sunday Arts section of England’s The Guardian newspaper.
Vivienne has shown in the Netherlands, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, and many places in the United States. She lives with her husband, artist and illustrator, Matte Stephens, and multiple pets.
