Before illustrating the children’s book, Pink Baby Alligator, Emily D. Stewart earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design and a Master of Arts in Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Dominica and has spearheaded art education programs for children, adults and families. Emily has a life-long love of art and story telling, and she is especially passionate about books that strive to teach empathy and break down barriers of prejudice. She lives outside of Philadelphia with her husband and 3-year old twins.
