Robert L. Gold is an Professor Emeritus, an entertaining public speaker and a prolific writer. His Colonial City Series: Dead to Rights, Cut of the Cross, and Dead and Gone are a popular historical murder mysteries published by Marcinson Press. He’s also released a non-fiction book with photographer Willie LaMonsSt. Augustine: A Brief History of America’s Oldest City.

Gold has contributed articles and reviews to many magazines and newspapers in the southeast and especially in Florida. In his beloved St. Augustine, he has written the popular newspaper column Essays from El Dorado, a historical script for sightseeing train guides and the town’s 450-year history provided to millions of visiting tourists.

Currently, Gold is working on a new historical murder mystery series, teaches adult education classes at the University of North Florida, and does speaking engagements across the Southeast.
